Warren police logs: Several domestic assault cases

Monday, Feb. 13

Police got a call about a man walking erratically on Market Street.

A caller from Market Street reported hearing a loud “zap” around the time of a power surge in the neighborhood.

A landlord brought in a bad check that had been given to him by a tenant.

A Market Street resident reported receiving harassing text messages.

A caller from Norbert Street reported a stolen wristwatch; police later clarified that the caller had “allowed it to be borrowed.”

Police got a call about an intoxicated party on Sowamsett Avenue.

Tuesday, Feb. 14

Police got a call at 5:32 a.m. from Metacom Avenue regarding a car with a loud exhaust. It turned out to be the air compressor the owner was using to inflate his tire.

A pedestrian on Metacom Avenue complained that snow had not been removed from the sidewalk.

A caller from Main Street reported just after noon that a woman was being “completely unruly.”

A main reported the loss of his watch on Main Street.

Jose B. Belliard, 45, of 62 Harris Ave., was charged with domestic simple assault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct, after a woman called to report that her ex-husband assaulted her and pushed her into the snow.

Police were called to a Child Street apartment building for a dispute between tenants.

Wednesday, Feb. 15

A caller reported having an ongoing issue with a fellow tenant at the Kickemuit Village apartments.

A person spotted in a Metacom Avenue parking lot just after 3:30 a.m. turned out to be a nearby business’s manager, who was looking for a trash bin that had been buried by a plow.

The animal control officer went out to Mayo Drive to check on the well-being of a pig. The ACO got no answer when he knocked.

Joseph Paul Santos, 48, of 10 Baker St., Apt. 3, was arrested on a bench warrant issued from Sixth Division District Court in Providence.

A resident complained that her son was assaulted at school.

Police got a call about kids lobbing snowballs at cars passing on Metacom Avenue.

A woman came in to the station to report a domestic assault.

Thursday, Feb. 16

Police got a call about a disobedient juvenile on Baker Street who refused to go to school. 

A caller from Child Street reported a cat stuck on the roof of a neighbor’s house. The animal control officer later reported that the cat had been extricated without a problem.

Benjamin A. Sebring, 25, of Providence, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license.

A caller from Mason Street asked that police disperse a drunken man from the residence. The caller reported a few minutes later that the man had just left on a bike.

The animal control officer tracked down two loose beagles and returned them to the owner on Seymour Street.

Police were asked to disperse an unwanted man from a Baker Street home.

Police were called to Warren Avenue for a spat between mother and daughter.

Zackery A. Primiano, 19, of 14 Birchswamp Road, was arrested on a Bristol warrant on four counts of third degree sexual assault and simple assault.

Friday, Feb. 17

A man and woman were reported arguing on Martin Street, but police who showed up got a different story from the woman; she went outside to have a cigarette, she said, and there was no argument.

The animal control officer helped a Davis Street resident with a cat stuck in the basement.

Cheryl J. Blakely, 27, of Pawtucket, was charged with violating a no contact order.

The Warren building official reported that a man locked himself in an upstairs bathroom at Warren Town Hall. Police noted the man was gone upon their arrival.

A caller from Leonard Street reported a large bird trapped in her porch. The animal control officer reported setting the bird, a hawk, free. 

Police picked up an intoxicated man spotted walking along Railroad Avenue just before 5:30 a.m. The man was “turned over to spouse.” Another intoxicated man spotted on Laurel Lane a few hours later was also turned over to a relative.

A Croade Street woman told police that an unwanted man refused to leave. The reporting officer noted later that the woman changed her mind and decided to let him stay the night.

Forrest E. Cook, 26, of Bristol, was picked up by Bristol police on a Warren warrant for possession of heroin. Warren police had issued the warrant last December in relation to an incident that occurred in August 2016, when police were dispatched to downtown Warren for a man who was acting strangely. Police found a quantity of suspected heroin on him at that time and a subsequent toxicology test bore that out.

Saturday, Feb. 18

A visually impaired caller told police that he believed there was another man in his apartment along with his ex-girlfriend. Police checked it out and found no other man there.

Gregory Jones Jr., 31, of Providence, was picked up by Rhode Island State Police on a Warren warrant for domestic simple assault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct.

Mark P. Valcourt Jr., 29, of 700 Metacom Ave., Apt. D324, was charged with domestic simple assault/battery, domestic vandalism/malicious injury to property and domestic disorderly conduct, after police were called to Metacom Avenue for a report of yelling.

Sunday, Feb. 19

A Maple Road woman told police that there was an unwanted man on her property, harassing her husband.

A caller reported that a friend of hers texted her to tell her there was a man at her apartment who refused to leave. The woman relayed the information to police, who went to the friend’s residence and dispersed the man.

Police got a call about an injured coyote near Joyce Street.

Police got a call about kids behaving rowdily on Maket Street.

Monday, Feb. 20

Police stopped a man on Water Street just at 3:14 a.m. after spotting him carrying a bag of trash. He reported that he was headed uptown to throw it out.

An injured coyote call came in from Cole Street.
