Warren police logs: Officers ferret out a squirrel

Police went to Harris Avenue to take a report on a dog bite.

A Sisson Street resident asked to speak to an officer about an unwanted man on the property.

A Union Street woman called police and asked them to deal with her drunken son.

Someone stole a wheelbarrow from a Barton Avenue home.

A man and woman were reported shouting at Broad and Water streets.

Someone complained about people rummaging through recycling bins on Bridge Street.

A Metacom Avenue man told police he was assaulted by his girlfriend.

Tuesday, June 21

A Metacom Avenue man came home to find his apartment door open and multiple items missing.

Someone stole mulch from a yard on Market Street.

A barking dog complaint drew police to Napolan Street.

Wednesday, June 22

The animal control officer was called out for a dog left behind by an evicted former tenant on Main Street.

Joshua Lima, 32, of Fall River, was charged wit driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, and failing to stop after an accident.

A Water Street woman told police she had been assaulted.

A woman called police to report a domestic incident involving her mother and father.

Police were called to Union Street for a roommate dispute. One of the roommates wanted information on obtaining a restraining order, and how the eviction process works.

Thursday, June 23

Gregg J. Trexler, 42, of 317 Metacom Ave., Apt. 2, was charged with breaking and entering a dwelling when the resident was home. Police said he entered a neighbor’s apartment, saying he was looking for a package that had been delivered, and was confronted and asked to leave.

Police arrested Manuel E. Camara, 79, of 77 King St., on a warrant for domestic simple assault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct.

Police got a call about a hitchhiker on Market Street, who was reportedly carrying a large stick.

Police arrested two people after being called to Liberty Street for a report of a person violating a court order. David Desmarais, 25, of 122 Main St., second floor, was charged with violating a no contact order and domestic disorderly conduct. Alyson S. Munroe, 27, of 10 Wood St., Apt. 2, was charged with obstructing an officer in the execution of duty.

Friday, June 24

A Fatima Drive resident reported receiving harassing text messages.

Police were called to Patterson Avenue for an unruly employee, but the subject left before officers’ arrival.

Fernando Sabala, 60,of Providence, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test. They pulled him over on Kickemuit Road just after 5 p.m.

Saturday, June 23

Police were called to a Metacom Avenue establishment for an unruly customer.

Police were asked to disperse a woman no longer wanted at a Bay Road home.

A caller from Child Street reported being harassed by an ex-boyfriend.

Sunday, June 26

A caller from Davis Street reported hearing shouting and strange noises from the apartment upstairs.

A caller reported a possible drunk driver on Child Street.

The police were able to help a Central Avenue woman flush a trespassing squirrel out of her home.
