Warren police logs: Man charged with burglary at daughter's home

Saturday, May 14
A Sisson Street woman called police after her boyfriend came home drunk, and an argument ensued.
Police got a call about a dead opossum on the Warren Town Beach.
Someone spray-painted a section of the bike path near Child Street.
Police were called to Croade Street for a possible overdose.
Sunday, May 15
Cows were spotted walking loose around Market Street.
Neighbors got into it on Sachem Street, and the police were called in.
A Market Street man reported being harassed by his ex-girlfriend.
Police got a call about a woman shouting on Arlington Avenue.
Monday, May 16
An unruly woman was dispersed from a condo association meeting on Child Street.
Police were asked to disperse a drunken person from a Metacom Avenue address.
Someone found a motorcycle helmet and battery charger on Warren Avenue. Those items were later confirmed to have been stolen.
Tuesday, May 17
The animal control officer was able to rescue a bird that had become trapped in a dryer vent on a Child Street home.
Police got a call about a man panhandling on Main Street.
Police got a call about a “possible sick” groundhog on Overhill Road.
Police dispersed a man and woman from the Broken Bridge area after they got a call that they might be doing drugs. No arrests were made.
A Child Street woman complained of being hit and chased by her landlord.
A Parker Avenue man complained of receiving harassing phone calls from Verizon. Police confirmed that it was actually a scam call; Verizon wasn’t involved.
A loud music call came in from Long Lane just after 5 p.m.
A woman complained that her son, a student at Kickemuit Middle School, had been assaulted by another student.
Wednesday, May 18
Sadie Medina
, 40, of 54 Market St., second floor, was arrested on an active Superior Court bench warrant.
A constable asked for police assistance in keeping the peace while an eviction notice was served on Franklin Street.
A staff member at Mt. Hope High School called police in regard to a student who had posted on social media that he was going to harm himself. Police went to the boy’s home who found him safe.
Child and Redmond streets: That's bad luck, a woodchuck struck.
A pit bull was found loose on Kinnicutt Avenue.
Thursday, May 19
The animal officer contained and relocated a snake that had gotten into a Metacom Avenue apartment. No word on the species.
A Homestead Avenue man complained to police that his ex-wife refused to return his belongings.
A woman who had reported the theft of a ring months went to get her mail and discovered it in the mailbox.
A no contact order violation was reported on Federal Street.
Someone was driving an off-road vehicle on Union Street.
Erin M. Sullivan, 33, of Providence, was cited for driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of her license, and obstructing a police officer.
Friday, May 20
A Main Street woman reported receiving harassing calls.
A panhandler call came in from Main Street at 3 p.m.
A car struck a deer on Market Street, killing it.
David W. Steele, 37, of Tiverton, was charged with burglary and disorderly conduct after police got a call from her daughter, a Child Street resident, just before 10 p.m. She said her father had broken in and was acting disorderly.
Saturday, May 21
A house party complaint came in from Metacom Avenue at 2:04 a.m.
Someone called police about a large swarm of bees on Laurel Lane. The animal control officer advised the caller about the options for having them removed.
A bird got inside a Child Street house, and the animal control officer was called in.
Elo B. Silva, 69, of 5 Davis St., was charged with simple assault or battery and disorderly conduct, after police got a 911 hangup call from his home just before 4 p.m. The dispatcher said that the 911 caller was unintelligible.
A Croade Street resident asked that police remove his grandson due to narcotics activity.
Police got a complaint about a woman yelling on Martin Street. It turned out to be no problem; the woman was disciplining her child.
Jonathan Matthew Bouffard, 33, of Westfield, Ma., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, and driving without or on an expired license, after police pulled him over on Metacom Avenue just before 11:30 p.m.
Sunday, May 22
A fireworks complaint came in from Main Street at 12:49 a.m.
A Market Street woman complained that someone drove over her lawn.
A Union Street man complained that a tenant was using his grandmother’s washer and dryer without permission.
A caller reported that someone purposely tried to run over wild turkeys on Seymour Street. The caller gave police the registration number.
A Union Street man reported being assaulted by his girlfriend. Police arrived and found no girlfriend and no apparent injuries on the man. But they said he was heavily intoxicated.
An officer on patrol struck a fox on Schoolhouse Road. The collision occurred around 10:17 p.m.
Monday, May 23
a caller reported a black car speeding on Market Street. Officers spoke with the caller and noted that it might be the same person responsible for making similar false calls in the past.
