Warren police logs: Five charged with domestic crimes

Monday, July 18
Police got a call about two men and a woman fighting at Main and Union streets. The call came in just before 12:30 p.m.
Dillon R. Adams, 22, of Newport, turned himself in on a warrant for domestic simple assault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct.
Someone complained about a diesel truck running for half an hour on Water Street.
Police were called to Union Street for an argument between a man and woman.
Tuesday, July 19
A woman called police concerned that her dog would be injured while being walked by her husband, who was suffering from low blood sugar.
Someone found a syringe on Water Street and turned it in.
Eric R. Troiano, 39, of Bristol, was charged with disorderly conduct and two counts of vandalism, after police got word that a man had destroyed a wooden Statue of Liberty at Child and Metacom avenues, then fled. The owner of a woodshop at the corner saw the man destroy the statue in a fit of anger as he walked along the street; he called police, who caught up with him near the Metacom Kitchen. Mr. Troiano, who police said was highly intoxicated, was booked, arraigned and released on $1,000 bail with surety.
Police got a call about a man and woman arguing on Sisson Street.
Wednesday, July 20
A business owner complained that a woman on Market Street was harassing customers.
Possible narcotics activity was reported on Water Street. No arrests were made, though police noted that two men were acting suspiciously.
Thursday, July 21
A yellow mountain bike was abandoned on Market Street, near the bike path.
Items were reported stolen from a yard on Luther Street.
A Beach Street resident reported an online scam.
A caller complained about a drunk driver on Market Street.
A civil dispute drew police to Water Street.
Someone called from Wood Street to complain about what appeared to be a man trying to get into parked cars.
Friday, July 22
A sailboat moored in the Kickemuit River broke loose from its mooring and drifted across the way to the Touisset side, where it came to rest against a dock. The owner was able to retrieve the boat and put it back on its mooring.
A Main Street resident complained about two men sitting on a bench behaving loud and acting intoxicated.
Curtis Stebbins, 46, of 20 Union St., #1Rear, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, second offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police were called to Water Street for an accident. The call came in at 9:54 p.m.
Saturday, July 23
A Warren Avenue caller asked that an unwanted person be dispersed.
A Croade Street woman complained that her husband was throwing and breaking things.
Panhandlers were reported at Main and Water streets.
A woman called police and also asked for evaluation for her husband. She told police he was having trouble breathing after someone tried to enter the apartment.
Sunday, July 24
A Davis Street resident reported the theft of his bike from the common area of his apartment building.
Kevin Pacheco, 31, of 16 Asselin St., was charged with domestic simple assault/battery, simple assault and domestic disorderly conduct. A caller told police that he struck her son.
Five minutes later, police got another, similar call. The reporting party, a woman, told police that George A. Silvia, 53, of 42 Croade St., had injured her during a domestic incident. They picked him up on a warrant several hours later and charged him with domestic simple assault/battery, domestic vandalism and domestic disorderly conduct.
A drunken woman was reported walking down Market Street just after 10 p.m.
Monday, July 25
Another domestic arrest, this time from Child Street. At 12:19 a.m. a woman on Child Street asked for the police’s help; as a result they charged David J. Siembab, 40, of 325 Child St., rear, with domestic disorderly conduct and two counts of domestic vandalism.
Yet another domestic incident occurred about seven hours later, when a woman called police at 7:35 a.m. to report being assaulted by her ex-boyfriend. She was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. As a result of the complaint police arrested two: Shelby L. Ennis, 28, of Swansea, was charged with domestic simple assault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct; Mark S. Durand, 38, of 20 Union St., Apt. 1, was charged with violating a no contact order.
