A Warren man is being held at the ACI after police say he held up a convenience store clerk at knifepoint and made off with an undisclosed amount of money last Monday, August 22.
Jason DeFusco, 44, of 134 Kickemuit Road, faces a felony first degree robbery charge after a clerk at Cumberland Farms on Market Street said he entered the store at approximately 5:46 p.m. and, brandishing a knife, demanded he hand over money. The clerk complied, game the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash and called police after he left the store. Officers picked up Mr. DeFusco a short time later near Malik’s Liquors, where they arrested him without incident. Deputy Warren Police Chief Joseph Loiselle said police recovered money and also seized a knife that Mr. DeFusco had clipped to his belt.
Mr. DeFusco was arraigned and taken to the ACI, where he remains pending a bail hearing on Sept. 8.
