Virginia (DeRiso) Amaral, 99, died Sunday, July 24, 2016, at the Grace Barker Nursing Home in Warren.

She was the wife of the late Joseph Amaral.

Virginia was born in Milford, Ma., a daughter of the late Bonaventura and Cristina (Giorgio) DeRiso.

She was the owner and operator of the former Joams Seafood in Warren for many years. She had lived in Warren for more than 60 years, coming from Bristol, and she was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.

She leaves her sons, Frank Scorpio and Ronald Warner, both of Warren. She was the grandmother of Ronnie, Stephen and Todd; the great-grandmother of Jackson and Mackenzie; and also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Domenic, Frank, Albert and Fannie DeRiso.

Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 28, at Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren. Burial will follow in St. Alexander Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend .Calling hours are Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
