Vincenza 'Lee' Mangiaratti, 91, of Attleboro

Vincenza "Lee" (Marino) Mangiaratti, 91, of Attleboro, passed away on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, Mass. She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore Mangiaratti who died in 1993. 

Born on July 8, 1925 in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Frank Marino and the late Mary (Ialuna) Marino. 

A resident of Attleboro for the past five years, she previously lived for 60 years in Westfield, Mass. She attended St. John the Evangelist Church in Attleboro. 

Lee was a graduate of Somerville High School and later attended business school. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant in the history department of Westfield State University before retiring in 1995. She also enjoyed work as a real estate agent. Lee proudly served her community as a member of the Westfield Municipal Gas and Electric Board.

A woman of many interest and talents, she loved gardening, golf, skiing, and playing bridge. She was a wonderful cook and artist, and had a keen eye and skilled hand for flower arranging. Lee was a member of the Westfield Women's Club and the Westfield Garden Club, and enjoyed volunteering as a docent for the Springfield museums. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose presence will forever be felt.

Lee is survived by her children: Robert S. Mangiaratti and his wife, Diane (Brennan) Mangiaratti, of Attleboro, Mass.; Edward F. Mangiaratti and his fiancée, Donna J. Roy, of Attleboro, Mass.; Alan J. Mangiaratti and his wife, Judi (Rebecki) Mangiaratti, of Feeding Hills, Agawam, Mass.; and Thomas P. Mangiaratti and his wife, Jody (Newsom) Mangiaratti, of Barrington. She leaves nine cherished grandchildren: John Mangiaratti, Kathryn Hynes, Ellen Sarhant, Mark Mangiaratti, Emily Mangiaratti, Gena Mangiaratti, Camille Mangiaratti, Raymond Mangiaratti, and Robert Santaniello; and five treasured great-grandsons: John Mangiaratti, James Mangiaratti, William Mangiaratti, Thomas Hynes, and Joseph Hynes. She was the sister of Stella (Marino) Standring of Fla., and the late Leo Marino and the late Daniel Marino, and leaves several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, Dec. 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home — the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave., (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on the left) Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.

Children’s room is available during visitation.

Those in need of a local ride to the visitation may call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such complimentary transportation. 

Family and friends are welcome to attend the funeral on Friday, Dec. 2, at 8:30 a.m. from the Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro, Mass.

Burial will take place on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Cemetery, 203 Southampton Road, Westfield, Mass., at which time Lee will be laid to rest alongside her late husband.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lee's memory either to the Springfield Museums, 21 Edwards Street, Springfield, MA 01103, or to the Hebron Food Pantry, P.O. Box 92, Attleboro, MA 02703.
