Veronica H. (Chisholm) Platt, 85, of Atria Bay Spring Village, Bay Spring Avenue, died peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016. She was the wife of the late Jefferson Randolph Platt, who was a direct descendent of Thomas Jefferson.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late William T. and Catherine (McGarty) Chisholm, she lived in Barrington for 13 years previously residing in North East Harbor, Maine.
Mrs. Platt was a teacher at Shea High School, Pawtucket for many years. She was a graduate of Providence College.
She is survived by a brother, Vincent J. Chisholm of Barrington and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late William Chisholm and Donald Chisholm.
A private Committal Service and burial was held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Contributions in Veronica’s memory to the Carmelite Monastery, 25 Watson Avenue, Barrington, RI, 02806 would be deeply appreciated. Arrangements are by the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, Riverside. wrwatsonfuneralhome.com
