The teams of Billy Andrade and Bill Haas, and Lexi Thompson and Bryson DeChambeau each finished the first day of the CVS Health Charity Classic at 9-under-par 62.

One stroke back from the leaders were the defending champs, Jon Curran and Keegan Bradley, while Kevin Kisner and Jason Bohn were two strokes off the lead at 7-under.

The teams of Chris Kirk and Steve Stricker, Louis Oosthuizen and Brandon Grace, and Paula Creamer and Jason Dufner were locked at 6-under, while the teams of Tony Finau and Billy Horschel, Morgan Pressel and Brad Faxon, and Brooke Henderson & Jamie Sadlowski were each at 3-under.

Closest to the Pin

Brooke Henderson won Monday’s closest-to-the-pin contest with a shot that finished 11 feet, 2 inches from the hole on 17. She earned $25,000 for Serve Rhode Island.

Celebrity Group

The CVS Health Charity Classic is excited to announce that a special celebrity group featuring some of New England’s favorite athletes will tee off amidst the professional golfers on Tuesday, June 28. Among the group will be retired New England Patriot linebacker and Pro Football Hall of Fame player Andre Tippett, former Red Sox pitcher and knuckleball ace Tim Wakefield and Lady Antebellum guitarist and singer Charles Kelley. They will be playing for charity.
