On Thursday, Dec. 29, Jim Cunha and other town employees did some cleaning.
The new town manager said he and other municipal employees spent hours cleaning up the town hall — removing piles of old paperwork and outdated equipment.
At the end of the day, the group had removed 2.73 tons of recyclable paper and 1.68 tons of scrap metal. Officials also filled nearly 140 file boxes which will be moved to a permanent storage facility.
"The town hall has been a hoarder," joked Mr. Cunha. "We found old paperwork from the 60s, 70s and 80s."
The cleanup was just one of the many projects prioritized by the new town manager. During a recent interview, Mr. Cunha shared an extensive list of projects he and his staff are focusing on — the items ranged from adding four positions at the fire department to converting the balcony space in the school committee meeting room to new offices.
