Each week the Personal Injury Law Offices of d’Oliviera & Associates compiles a summary of recalls, FDA warnings, market withdrawals and safety alerts that they feel the public should be aware of for their safety and so that they can make informed decisions.

Here are 25 recalls to be aware this week

Medical Devices & Equipment


  • Nurse Assist Inc. recalled the normal saline flush syringes due to incidents of Burkholderia cepacia (B. cepacia) contamination. The FDA has identified this as a Class I recall, the most serious type of recall. Use of these devices may cause serious injuries or death.

Auto


  • Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque vehicles recalled - the steering knuckle may separate, affecting vehicle handling.

  • Kia Sorentos and Sportages recalled- the accessory trailer hitch wiring harness may malfunction.that may result in the trailer brake lights being constantly illuminated – which can result in other drivers being confused and increasing risk of a crash.

  • Porsche 918 Spyders recalled - the vehicles have front lower control arms that may crack at the ball joint which may affect vehicle handling increasing the risk of a crash.

Motorcycle/Scooter

  • Yamaha recalled Yamaha C1Y55F SMAX scooters - the speedometer may not work, increasing the risk of a crash.

  • Ducati North America recalled Ducati Scrambler motorcycles - the side stand position sensor may not function properly which may cause the engine to stall, or the motorcycle may be ridden while the stand is still down which increases the risk of a crash.

Utility/Recreational Vehicles & Automotive Accessories

Food, Beverage & Nutritional Supplements


  • Ruiz Food Products recalled beef and cheese tortilla products - the products may be contaminated with brittle clear plastic

  • Whole Foods Market tarts recalled  voluntarily in select stores in Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and the District of Columbia because the products contains tree nut (almond flour) allergens that were not listed on the product labels.

  • Bakers of Paris plain, almond, and chocolate croissants sold in 18 Northern California Whole Foods Market stores were recalled due to an undeclared allergen. The croissants, sold individually in self-service cases and in clear plastic packs of four, are made with an egg wash which is not declared on the ingredient list.
