Stanley P. DeAngelis, 69, passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2016. He was the husband of Deborah DeAngelis (Charlton) and son to the late Mario DeAngelis and Dorothy Ann (Chellel) DeAngelis. He was raised in Barrington.
Stan attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio where he received a bachelor of architecture degree. A creative entrepreneur, Stan founded several businesses over his career: Vision 3 Architects (1987), WorkPlace Dynamics (1998), and DeAngelis Business Development (2008). In 2012 he and his wife founded, Massage Health and Healing Energies, LLC, located in Barrington specializing in therapeutic massage.
Stanley served on the boards of many non-profits including: The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, Groundwerx Dance Theatre, The Small Business Administration Advisory Board, Leadership RI, and was a partner and board member of Social Venture Partners RI now known as The Social Enterprise Greenhouse.
Stan and his wife Deb lived together in Riverside, walking distance from the Crescent Park Carousel and yes, they would go for a ride at least once a year.
Besides his wife, he leaves behind sons, Michael DeAngelis and his wife Kelly of Barrington, and Andrew DeAngelis of Bristol, and daughter, Lisa Hansen and her husband Daniel of Highland, NY. He also leaves a brother Kenneth DeAngelis and his wife Lorrie of Austin, Texas, and a step-son Justin Grabe and his wife Adriana of Manville, NJ. Stanley had three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at St. James Lutheran Church, 49 Middle Hwy, Barrington, RI 02806, on Saturday, Aug. 27 at 11 a.m. Calling hours will take place on Friday, Aug. 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Ave., Riverside, RI 02915.
