Speak-Out: Let them swim; play talented players

Prudence Island residents don’t pay taxes to us; they pay it to Portsmouth. So WE SHOULD NOT BE DOING ANYTHING TO HELP THEM. Send of all, we have a viable livable ocean, which fishermen make their living out of. And what the town is trying to do is going to destroy our bay. We have a live bay; let’s keep it alive.

I’m calling about the complaints on the HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL COACH. I go to all the games, and I don’t think it’s a problem as far as his relationship with the kids. I think it’s more of him probably getting the kids angry playing favorites. I see the games and I see the lineups he’s playing, and I see the talent he’s leaving on the bench. I mean he should have his two best player sin the game at all times playing with one another, and I’ve rarely seen that at all this season, He;s got one of his main guys on the court the other guy’s sitting on the bench. He may play two minutes in one half, or he may play long in one half and sit out the next. It just doesn’t make sense. He’s got two main guys and a couple role players that can shoot from the outside, and he should have a solid point guard running the point. And he should have his five best guys on the floor, starting, playing and finishing, while the other players come in while they catch a breather. He’s not doing that; he did;’t do it last year; he did’t do it the year before. We have the talent to win the Division III state championship if he puts it all together and has his best players out on the court. I hope to see that moving forward  because they do have a very talented team. He needs to get his main core of guys out on the court playing together, forming chemistry, moving forward into the playoff. As far as what he does with the kids in the locker room or in practices, that I have no idea. But I do see what’s going on in the games.

I’d like to make a comment concerning the person that was complaining about Bethany at CVS Pharmacy. First of all, it’s CVS the corporation that moved the girls around. I’ve had plenty of pharmacists I’ve enjoyed working with and they’ve had to move. And I believe that’s what the problem was that the person liked a different pharmacist. But I think SHE’S A VERY NICE GIRL. I’ve called several times and she’s been very courteous to me. So this woman should do something different with her life instead of trying to pick on her.

The story about the Bristol coaches for the high school. They should get coaches from out of town, not only basketball. Soccer, girls soccer, boys soccer. A lot of politics. Time to go out of town and get rid of these coaches. It’s all favors.
