After an extensive and unsuccessful day-long effort Saturday, Little Compton Police Chief Antone (Buzzy) Marion announced Saturday night at 7:12 p.m. that he had "suspended the land search" for Michael J. Godles after all search parties had completed their missions for today."

Mr. Godles, 39, of 406 West Main Road, Little Compton, was last seen on Tuesday morning, April 26, outside his home near a wooded area in the backyard. Mr. Godles suffers from a medical condition which requires him to have medication.

"Today, April 30, 2016, a large scale search of over 500 acres of land was searched by volunteers, members of the Rhode Island State Police along with officers of the Little Compton Police," Chief Marion said last night in a released statement. Mr. Godles has not been located, the chief said. The search involved 25 volunteers and 10 canines, he said.

Little Compton Police will continue to investigate the disappearance of Mr. Godles, the Chief said, and are still asking the public to report any sightings of him to Little Compton police at 401-635-2311.
