Russell Roy, 95, passed on to Heaven on Sunday, April 17, 2016. He was the husband of the late Therese Roy.

Born in Providence to Ezora and Blanche (Cormier) Roy, he lived in Warren for the past 51 years. He worked at FulFlex for 40 years before retiring. Russell enjoyed life, family, cards, friends and a good dirty joke.

He leaves a daughter, Corinne Rathbone and her husband Kevin; nine grandchildren, Candy Foisy, April Ahern, Anna Marie Williams, Willie Rathbone, Isaiah Rathbone, Joshua Manchester, Crystal Rathbone, John Rathbone and Aaron Rathbone; and her great-grandchildren, Nick, Jack, Ciara, Aidan, Nizayah, Isaiah, Julianna, Ashley and Amanda.

A Christian Mass in celebration of Russell’s life will be celebrated at 5 p.m. Friday, April 29, in St. Jean Baptiste Church, Main Street, Warren.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
