Robert Hazlett, 92, of Bristol, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016, at the Rhode Island Veterans Home.
He was the husband of Elizabeth (Jones) Hazlett.
He was born in Newport, a son of the late Robert S. Hazlett and Thelma (Watson) Tilley. Mr. Hazlett was a Private First Class in the US Army during World War II. He received his Bachelor's degree from Brown University in 1951 and his Doctor of Law degree from Boston University in 1957. He retired as a library assistant from the Providence Journal and he was a parishioner of St. Michael's Church in Bristol.
Besides his wife, Mr. Hazlett is survived by two stepsons, Robert Eastwood of California and David Eastwood, his stepdaughter Ruth Prindle of Riverside, his brother James Tilley of East Sandwich, MA, a nephew, Leon Tilley of Rochester, MA, and two grandchildren, Heather Covington, of Virginia and Michael Prindle of Riverside and two great grandchildren. He was the stepfather to the late Francis Eastwood.
A Memorial service in his honor will be held at the convenience of the family at the Rhode Island Veterans Home, 480 Metacom Ave., Bristol, RI.
