Rep. Donovan receives committee assignments

Posted

Speaker of the House Nicholas Mattiello has appointed Rep. Susan Donovan (D-Bristol) to the House Committee on Health, Education, and Welfare, as well as the House Committee on Environment and Natural Resources.
"I am honored to have been appointed to the Health, Education and Welfare and the Environment and Natural Resources committees and I thank Speaker Mattiello and the rest of my colleagues for their vote of confidence to join these committees as a freshman legislator,” Rep. Donovan said in a release.
The Health, Education and Welfare Committee considers issues relating to the health care system, public education, human services and children and families. The House Committee on Environment and Natural Resources hears all matters pertaining to environmental issues, such as conservation, pollution, renewable energy and the green economy.
Rep. Donovan is serving her first term in the Rhode Island House of Representatives, having been elected in November and sworn in last week.
