Jan Reitsma was officially hired as Warren's new Town Manager Wednesday, seven months after he began serving as the town's interim manager.
Mr. Reitsma, the former head of the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, beat out more than 60 other applicants and a half dozen finalists for the post. Though councilors selected him more than a week ago, it took some time to finish the paperwork.
Mr. Reitsma replaces former manager Thomas Gordon, who resigned late last year and is currently the executive director of the Warren Housing Authority.
