PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth Fire Department has announced that no recreational or brush burning will be allowed in Portsmouth until further notice.

Due to extremely dry conditions, any outdoor burning is likely to spread and will be difficult to control, the department says.

Traditional Fourth of July bonfires will not be allowed at this time.

Should conditions improve, the department will lift this restriction.

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
