Moses Brown hung on to beat the Barrington girls lacrosse team 11-10 in a battle for first place at Victory Field on Thursday night. The two teams traded leads and were tied several times through out the hard fought match. Sophomore midfielder Hope Robertson scored a game-high three goals for the Lady Eagles. Molly Coogan and Maeve Gaffney each scored two goals. Julia Soares, Caroline Larisa and Clare Gaffney each netted one goal. Barrington held a 6-5 edge at the half, but Moses Brown quickly tied the score and then went ahead on a goal by Kari Buonanno who scored four for the Quakers. The Eagles then tied the score, 7-7. But the Quakers quickly struck back for two. The pesky Eagles refused to quit and tied the game again, 9-9, on a goal by Hope Robertson who caught a pass from Coogan and stuffed it into the net past Quakers goalkeeper Caitlin Tucker. Moses Brown again went up by two. But the Eagles scored agian to make it, 10-11, with a minute to go. Moses Brown was able to gain possession after the face off and hung on for the win. The loss drops the Eagles to 7-1 and are now in second place behind the 7-0 Quakers in Division I.
