PORTSMOUTH — Here some highlights from the Portsmouth Police reports from over the past week.

Friday, Jan. 6

A 15-year-old Portsmouth boy was charged with first-degree child molestation upon a juvenile female following a complaint that had been made to police two days earlier. The victim and her mother told police the girl was staying over a friend’s house in Common Fence Point on Dec. 29 and they were communicating with the suspect via FaceTime. The boy indicated he was coming over to have sex with the victim, but that she objected, according to police. About 20 minutes later he arrived and the pair had intercourse, police said. At one point the girl told the suspect to stop because she was in pain, but he ignored her, according to police.

Juwan K. Clarke, 20, of 12 Marlboro Ave., Providence, was charged at 12:42 a.m. with violating a no-contact order, obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duty and driving without a license. Shortly before midnight a patrol officer found Mr. Clarke’s disabled vehicle in the area of West Main Road and Clock Tower Square. Mr. Clarke, who police said initially gave them a false name, had struck a pothole and his car had a flat tire. Police said there was an active no-contact order between Mr. Clarke and a female passenger in the vehicle, as well as a 2nd District Court warrant for Mr. Clarke’s arrest.

Saturday, Jan. 7

Zachary T. Settle, 18, of 324 Jepson Lane, was charged at 3 a.m. with driving while intoxicated (first offense) and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Two officers responded to the area of 401 Union St. for a report of a teenage running on Union Street toward West Main Road. When police arrived they found a car overturned off the roadway, with disabling damage to the entire vehicle. Mr. Settle, who sustained minor cuts to his hands, told police he was trying to run home following the accident.

Justin R. Albano, 30, of 1 South Drive, was charged at 3:27 p.m. with leaving the scene of an accident with damage resulting to the other vehicle. A 61-year-old Portsmouth man told police he was stopped at a red light on West Main Road and waiting to make a left turn into Bayview Apartments when a car approached rapidly from behind lost control and spun into his car, causing extensive damage to both vehicles. The victim said he got out of his vehicle to speak with the other driver when the suspect’s car took off. The victim called 911 and gave chase, telling police the suspect’s car was traveling at a high rate of speed and nearly collided with several other vehicles before it went off the road and onto the grass at one point. Police later found Mr. Albano’s car on Hedly Street, where they said he briefly tried to elude officers before they caught up to him.

Sunday, Jan. 8

Anthony M. Gear, 39, of 96 Charles St., Providence, was charged at 5:22 p.m. on a Superior Court full bench warrant. An officer with knowledge of the warrant responded to the Ultimate Grille on Park Avenue, where Mr. Gear was working as a cook, and took him into custody.

Monday, Jan. 9

A vehicle driven by Christopher Botelho of New Bedford, Mass. struck a deer that ran out of the woods and onto West Main Road near Raytheon around 10:25 a.m. A second vehicle also hit the deer, which was killed, according to police.
