PORTSMOUTH — Here are some highlights from the Portsmouth Police reports from over the past week.

Tuesday, Aug. 16

Cristovao C. Aguiar, 29, of 593 Dwelly St., Apt. 3, Fall River, was charged at 5:15 p.m. on a felony bench warrant from Superior Court. Mr. Aguiar was a passenger in a car stopped in the parking lot of West Main Pizza because the driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, according to police.

Wednesday, Aug. 17

Shawnis L. Flaherty, 44, of 19 Lafayette Drive, Fall River, was charged with driving while intoxicated at about 5 a.m. A patrol officer said she was on patrol in the Hummocks Avenue area when she came across Ms. Flaherty’s car stopped in the center of the road. The officer waited about 30 seconds before activated emergency lights and then the car started to move slowly forward. However, police said the car didn’t stop and kept traveling — under 30 mph — onto Route 24 northbound, while the officer used an airhorn several times. Ms. Flaherty finally stopped her car on the Sakonnet Bridge, police said.

Thursday, Aug. 18

Jarret J. Souza, 31, of 148 Fort St., East Providence, was charged with violating a no-contact order at 8:39 a.m. Police said Mr. Souza had e-mailed a Portsmouth woman, despite a no-contact order in effect.

An Oakdale Avenue woman told police an orange Huffy bicycle she had left in front of her home had been taken sometime overnight. The bicycle has a rip in the seat, she said.

Friday, Aug. 19

Kenneth T. Peters, 61, of 68 Soares Drive, was charged just before 8 p.m. with driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to a chemical test. His car was stopped on Bristol Ferry Road because it had drifted in and out of the lane of travel, according to police.

Saturday, Aug. 20

Emma V. Harvey, 25, of 87 Freeborn St., was charged at 2:23 a.m. with driving while intoxicated, driving without a license and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police said they stopped Ms. Harvey’s car on Middle Road because she ran a stop sign at the Schoolhouse Lane intersection.

Christian Jorge, 19, of 22 Gilroy St., Newport, was charged with disorderly conduct after police saw him unzip his pants and prepare to urinate between two cars at Newport Polo around 6:45 p.m., according to police. Just a few minutes later, police spotted him walking with a red cup that contained beer, and issued him a summons for underage possession of alcohol.

Monday, Aug. 22

Kayla M. Paull, 18, of 175 Warren Ave., Tiverton, was charged at 1:26 p.m. with domestic assault, domestic vandalism with malicious injury to property and vandalism with malicious injury to property. According to police, a Portsmouth man said Ms. Paull had sent him a photo and text from his home, saying she had destroyed his iPod. He went home to check to see if any other items had been damaged when he was confronted by Ms. Paull, who kicked the driver’s side of his car, causing minor damage, police said. The man told police he responded by breaking a sideview mirror on Ms. Paull’s car, which she then picked up and used to strike him in the head. He then pushed Ms. Paull away, and she fell backwards into her car, breaking a small window with her elbow, according to police. Police said they determined Ms. Paull was the primary aggressor in the incident.

Tuesday, Aug. 23

Jessica Wheelock, 48, of 2706 East Main Road, was charged at 5:40 a.m. on a bench warrant from 2nd District Court. An officer with knowledge of the warrant — for failure to appear to answer a charge of driving with a suspended license — made the arrest at her home.
