Eagles push past LaSalle

The Barrington High School girls' swim team improved to 4-0 in the division after defeating LaSalle Academy 60-34 on Friday, Jan. 13.

The Eagles were paced by strong performances by their relay teams. The 200 free relay team of Wanging Li, Amy Zhao, Julia Zulker and Sydni Diehl clocked a first place time of 1:43.37. The 200 medley relay team of Cali Diehl, Melanie Baker, Li and Ainsley Rose also cruised to a win, as did the 400 free relay team of Li, Zhao, Zulker and Diehl.

Kaley Swintak won the 500 free event with a time of 5:36.55, and Li finished with the fastest time (2:18.68) in the 200 IM.

Zhao won the 100 butterfly event with a time of 1:00.95, while Cali Diehl won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.52. Sydni Diehl clocked the winning time of :25.32 in the 50 freestyle.

The Barrington High School boys' swim team has also built an undefeated record this season. The Eagles, who defeated LaSalle on Friday, also picked up a win over East Greenwich 59-35 on Monday, Jan. 9.

Ethan O'Connor swam well against the Avengers — he won the 50 freestyle with a time of :22.97, and the 100 free with a time of :52.80.

Ben Vesey also won a pair of events — the 100 backstroke and the 200 IM. Vesey clocked a 1:00.24 in the backstroke and a 2:06.59 in the 200 IM.

Andrew Barton won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:08.72, Tim Hecker won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:07.30, and Aidan Lane was tops in the 200 free with a time of 1:59.39.

Ben Noonan, William Kaon, Ian Smith and Lane teamed up to win the 200 free relay with a time of 1:38.78, while Vesey, Matt Bloom, O'Connor and Kaon won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:50.21.
