Peter Dauphin, 70, of Tiverton, died on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Genevieve (Labens) Dauphin.

Born on June 22, 1946, in Fall River, he was the son of the late Adrien J. and Mary (Pruchnik) Dauphin.

Mr. Dauphin had a 46-year career at Raytheon. He was a talented inventor and machine maker who enjoyed traveling with his wife. Some their favorite trips included adventuring cross-country in Australia, exploring Alaska, and cruising the Panama Canal. Peter also enjoyed cars, especially his beloved Corvette. He loved gardening and kept a full greenhouse at his home.

Besides his wife of 45 years, he is survived by his son, Michael Dauphin and his wife Karin of Portsmouth; his daughter, Gretchen Cholette and her husband Kenneth of Tiverton; his brother, Adrien Dauphin of Fall River; and his grandchildren, Mollie, Jake, and Brynn. He also leaves behind a much-beloved dog Milo who has been his faithful friend and companion for eight joyful years.

Funeral services are private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney Street, Boston, MA 02115 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 1 St. Jude Place Building, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 300, Memphis, TN 38105.
