New company to take over Barrington walk-in clinic

Ocean State Urgent Care will be open seven days a week

A new company will take over management of the emergency walk-in clinic on Maple Avenue next month.

Ocean State Urgent Care, which runs clinics across the state, will open its doors in Barrington on June 20. Ocean State will take over the space currently occupied by Barrington Urgent Care inside the building at 310 Maple Ave.

"Ocean State Urgent Care is excited to be opening in Barrington," said Jenn Zuba, the general manager for Ocean State. "The opportunity presented itself, and we couldn't be more excited."

Ocean State Urgent Care currently operates emergency walk-in clinics in Woonsocket, Cumberland, Smithfield, Coventry, Westerly and Providence.

"We are committed to providing high quality health care to the community and surrounding areas," Ms. Zuba said.

Once Ocean State opens its doors in Barrington, it will offer a wide variety of services. There will be emergency medical care for cuts, sprains, strains and other minor traumas. The medical staff on hand will also help folks who are suffering from colds and the flu, and administer school and sports physicals, vaccinations, and testing. There will also be a lab and x-ray on site.

Ms. Zuba said the Barrington location of Ocean State Urgent Care will cater to people of all ages.

The clinic will be open seven days a week — Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
