Marianna G. Overy, 76, Bristol

Marianna G. “Nina” (Luciano) Overy, 76, of Bristol, died Tuesday Aug. 16, 2016 at  Miriam Hospital, Providence.

She was the wife of John Overy Sr. They were married for more than 60 years.

“Nina” was born in Weymouth, Mass., a daughter of the late Francisco and Josephine (Oliva) Luciano. She has been a Bristol resident since 1975, coming from East Providence.

Mrs. Overy was a homemaker. She enjoyed baking cakes for her children and grandchildren, cooking, and all culinary arts. She looked forward to spending time with her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, John Overy, Jr. of Johnston, David Haywood of Tiverton, Frank Overy, Nicholas Overy and Daryl Overy, all of Bristol, Linda Oliveira of Bristol, Marianne Overy of Pawtucket, Paula Stephenson of Bristol and Suzanne Francis of Warren.

She was the sister of Anne Devlin of Pembroke, Mass., and Rita Vigneau of Duxbury, Mass. Nina was the grandmother of 18, and the great-grandmother of 8. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Nina was the sister of the late Robert Luciano.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood St., Bristol. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are omitted.
