Maria (Albernaz) Viveiros, 90, passed away Jan. 13 at Grace Barker Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Joao Carvalho Viveiros.
Born in Fall River, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Joao and Maria da Conceicao (Oliveira) Albernaz. She was the mother of Jeremias Carvalho Viveiros, Edward Carvalho Viveiros and Mary Carvalho Miranda; grandmother of Steven Viveiros, Cheryl Viveiros, Kelly Viveiros, Edward Viveiros, Jody DeCosta and Edward Miranda; great grandmother of Jackson Viveiros, Ella Viveiros, Kayla DeCosta and A.J. DaCosta; and the great great-grandmother of Madisyn Teixeira. She was the sister of the late Manuel Albernaz.
Mrs. Viveiros attended school in Portugal and worked at Davol Manufacturing for 20 years before retiring.
Her funeral services were held Jan. 16 from the George Lima Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Richard Narciso at St. Elizabeth’s Church. The offertory gifts were presented by Kayla DaCosta, A.J. DaCosta and Madisyn Texeira. Burial followed in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Joseph Miranda, Edward Miranda, Anthony DaCosta, A.J. DaCosta and Mario Texeira.
