Manuel Pereira Leal, 88, Bristol

Manuel Pereira Leal, 88, of Roma Street, passed away on June 28 at St. Elizabeth Manor. He was the husband of Fernanda Raposo (Moura) Leal.

Born in Capelo, Faial, he was the son of the late Antonio Pereira Botelho and Maria Emilia Leal. He is survived by his children, Manuel Leal and his wife Helen, and Maria Abreu and her husband Raul; grandchildren Laura Leal, Alexandra Abreu, Olivia Abreu and Marina Abreu; and great grandchild Noah Baptista. He was the brother of Maria Leopoldina Brum and the late Jose Leal, Antonio Leal, Alberto Leal and Maria da Gloria Leal.

Mr. Leal attended school in Portugal and worked as a carpenter for Pearson Yachts for 25 years before retiring.

His funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, 10 a.m. at the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High St., with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood St. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bristol. Calling hours are Friday, 4-7 p.m.
