PORTSMOUTH/TIVERTON — Portsmouth’s Kathryn Gallison and Tiverton’s Mary Rishmany, rising seniors at Bishop Stang High School as well as teammates on Team Real Lacrosse Club out of Portsmouth, have been named as 2016 Brine National All-Americans.

They are representing New England this week at the 2016 Brine National Lacrosse Classic in Richmond, Va. from Tuesday to Friday, July 19-22.

Kathryn and Mary joined 20 girls selected from two New England regional tryouts in February and June. Kathryn and Mary have earned various all-star and all-academic accolades as high school lacrosse teammates and are key contributing players on their travel club.

“It's been an honor coaching Kathryn and Mary over the years and I'm very proud of them and their accomplishments,” said club coach Bill Villareal. “Their years of hard work and dedication are paying off. The Team Real Lacrosse Club has now had 19 players represent the New England area in the Brine All-American games."

A benchmark for youth and high school lacrosse in the United States, the Brine National Lacrosse Classic, now in its ninth year, is an annual showcase event featuring more than 1,000 premier players from across the country selected to participate based on skills and sportsmanship demonstrated in regional tryouts.

As a gateway to the NCAA, thousands of Brine National Lacrosse Classic participants have gone on to play at the college level.
