Letter: Candidate makes a living defending vile criminals

To the editor:

To say my stomach churned when I read a GoLocalProv article on Jason Knight's sex offender clients would be an understatement. I was even further disgusted when I went to his website and saw that he advertises for the business of accused sex offenders and child pornographers.

To make matters worse, on every page of his website, he lists the number one reason for accused rapists and child molesters and other offenders to hire him is because he is a former prosecutor with the Rhode Island Attorney General's Office.

What kind of man switches sides from defending the public's safety to putting our, and our children's, wellbeing in danger, all in the name of making money?

There is no lower form of human scum than rapists and child molesters, and I cannot in good conscience support a man who makes his living helping keep these and other demons on our streets.

Rick Lavey

Editor's note: Jason Knight is a Democrat seeking the seat in House District 67.
