Mrs. Irene A. (Bruscato) Cabral, 85, of Beachmont Avenue, Bristol, died peacefully Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at her home. She was the wife of Raymond J. Cabral, Sr., her husband of 65 years.

Irene A. Cabral, 85, Bristol

Mrs. Irene A. (Bruscato) Cabral, 85, of Beachmont Avenue, Bristol, died peacefully Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at her home. She was the wife of Raymond J. Cabral, Sr., her husband of 65 years.  

Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Cosmo and Mary (Mello) Bruscato. A graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Bristol, Irene was a data processor and later a computer programmer for the Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation in both their Bristol and Portsmouth Plants for many years before retiring in 1993. Irene was a member of the Flag Team for the Generations Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps of Bristol for many years, and she loved to work and plant in her home gardens, taking wonderful care of her home and family, loved to bake and spend time with family and friends camping. Her favorite times of the year was Christmas and the 4th of July.  

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Deborah Brooks of Riverside and Raymond J. Cabral, Jr. (Valerie) of West Greenwich; a granddaughter, Amber Brooks; two brothers, John Bruscato (Beth) of Cranston and Raymond Bruscato of Portsmouth; a nephew and five nieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary DiMeo.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral ceremony Sunday, Oct. 2 at 5 p.m. in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol. Visitation will precede the service from 2 p.m. 

Burial will be private and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bristol Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 775, or to the Bristol Fourth of July Committee, P.O. Box 561, both Bristol, RI  02809.
