Harold Lincoln "Hal" Morpeth, of Saunderstown and former longtime resident of Barrington, died on Thursday, June 23, 2016. He was 78.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jane, and his children Heidi and Rick Arnold, Scott and Chris Morpeth, Steve Morpeth and Joe Tisdale. Also 15 grandchildren and great-grandchildren with an additional great-grandchild due in July.
Hal had a special bond with all around him. He totally accepted people. He was unconditional love personified. He was active in his community throughout his life: Sunday school teacher; Cub Scout Master; chairman of the Senior Citizens Council and chairman of the Zoning Board both in Barrington.
He worked with the Quonset Air Museum and the Master Gardeners Association. As garden manager, 10,000 pounds of vegetables was raised for the Rhode Island Food Banks. He was Master Gardener of the Year in 2012. His career was at IBM and Brown University.
A casual gathering in his memory will be held on Saturday, July 2, at 2 Loop Drive, North Kingstown, at 2 p.m. Your memories will be very welcome.
