Grand Jury indicts East Providence man on numerous counts

Include firearm, assault, vandalism charges

PROVIDENCE — The Providence County Grand Jury reported out and indictment charging Miguel Dejesus, of East Providence with three counts of first degree robbery, two counts of assault with intent to rob, one count of fourth degree arson, three counts of vandalism, one count of simple assault, and two counts of using a firearm while committing a crime of violence.

It is alleged that on or about May 12, 2016 and May 13, 2016, Dejesus, 26 and of Mauran Avenue, robbed three individuals at gun point, assaulted two other individuals with the intent to rob them at gun point, set fire to a motor vehicle, vandalized two motor vehicles and vandalized the Pierce Field basketball court. It is further alleged that on or about May 16, 2016, Dejesus assaulted another individual.

The alleged incidents took place in East Providence. The East Providence Police conducted the investigation. The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court before Justice Robert D. Krause on August 25.
