Miss Grace Theresa Byrnes, 101, of Warren, formerly of Providence, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Grace Barker Nursing Center, Warren, two weeks shy of her 102nd birthday.
Born and brought up in Bristol, she was a daughter of the late Thomas H. and Helen M. (Conley) Byrnes.
Grace was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1931, and in her younger days was a sales clerk at the former Conley’s Jewelry Store in Bristol, retiring in 1974. Grace was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Bristol.
She is survived by a sister, Gertrude Dwyer of South Dartmouth, Mass., a brother, William P. Byrnes of Warwick, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great great nieces and great great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary R. Byrnes, Helen B. Tattrie and Frances Newman, and a brother, Thomas H. Byrnes, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Columban Fathers Retirement Center, 65 Ferry Road, Bristol, RI 02809.
