Are you interested in meeting the next town manager of Barrington?
If so, mark your calendar for Thursday, Sept. 1 — the three finalists for the position will be present at a public forum that day. They will answer questions and share comments during the event, which will be held at the town hall inside the council chambers.
The finalists are:
• William Riccio — The Johnston resident currently works as the director of public services in Newport.
• James Cunha — A Barrington resident, Mr. Cunha is retired from the Navy and was the commander of the Naval Academy Preparatory School.
• Michael Maniscalco — A resident of East Hampton, Conn., Mr. Maniscalco is currently town manager of that community.
The schedule for the Sept. 1 public forum will have Mr. Riccio speaking at 10 a.m., Mr. Cunha at 10:30 and Mr. Maniscalco at 11. After speaking to the public, each candidate will meet with the different department heads in Barrington.
Current Barrington Town Manager Peter DeAngelis will retire in October. He has worked for the town for more than 40 years in different positions.
