DARTMOUTH, MASS. — A passenger in a car driven by a city man was killed and the four others in the vehicle were transported to hospital as the result of an accident Sunday night, May 29, in Dartmouth.

According to a report by Dartmouth Police, Travis Rainville, 20 and of Riverside, was pronounced dead at approximately 1:30 a.m. at Rhode Island Hospital, succumbing to the injuries he sustained when the car in which he was riding in crashed into a utility pole at 1241 Old Fall River Road.

Another Riverside resident, 20-year-old Gage Dyson, was identified by police as the driver of the vehicle. He along with two other passengers were also transported to RIH with what DPD said were non-life threatening injuries. A fifth passenger, a 17-year-old, was taken to the adjacent Hasbro Children's Hospital.

Police said none of the passengers appeared to have been wearing seat belts. The names of the three others in the vehicle were not released.

Also according to the report, the accident remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Dartmouth Detectives and the Dartmouth Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit.
