Barrington police responded to a Bay Spring area home for a disturbance involving two men and a dog, on Sunday, April 17.
Police said Emily Albert Corriveau, 71, of Barrington, had been bitten by a neighbor's dog. His hand was bleeding and needed medical attention, but while rescue workers were trying to tend to Mr. Corriveau, he reportedly walked over to the owner of the dog — a 19-year-old man — and punched him.
That attack drew a response from the police. Officers moved in to apprehend Mr. Corriveau, but the older resident reportedly squared off against an officer and raised his fists, preparing to fight.
The officer quickly put Mr. Corriveau in cuffs. Police then charged the Barrington man with simple assault or battery.
