Cheryl Louise Bennett, 58, formerly of Bristol

Cheryl Louise (Pedley) Bennet, 58, of Warren, formerly of Bristol, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 10, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital.

Cheryl graduated from Bristol High School and pursued her career in office management. She loved sailing, spending time at the beach and camping in New Hampshire in any season.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Robert “Bo” Bennett of Warren, and her son, Thomas Smith of Hamden, Maine; stepsons Robert Bennett Jr. of Warwick, and Michael Bennett of Cranston; and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Cheryl; was the daughter of Harold “Bud” Pedley of Bristol, and was preceded in death by her mother, Fran Pedley. Cheryl was the sister of Wendy Krupa of Hopedale, Mass., and Lorna Francis of Bristol.

A memorial service will be held on Sept. 24, 2016, at 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 250 High St., Bristol, where Cheryl was a member.

Donations would be graciously accepted by the First Baptist Church Deacons Fund, PO Box 402, Bristol, RI, 02809.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
