The Bristol Police Department responded to the following calls between Sept. 5 and Sept. 11:

Monday, Sept. 5

Trash was left outside on Richmond Street in violation of a town ordinance. Police attempted to contact the resident at 9:40 a.m. but could not find anyone home.

Police responded to a resident complaint on Court Street. A tenant in the building was reportedly “banging on the floor.” Officers filed a report.

Officers assisted with a civil dispute on Second Street over a car reportedly granted to a woman in a divorce.

Tuesday, Sept. 6

Twice, police responded to a home on Bay View Avenue because of a couch on the front lawn, in violation of a town ordinance. An elderly resident in the home said her son was going to remove the couch the next day.

A resident on Metacom Avenue reported that his landlord has been harassing him with emails. Officers filed a report.

Wednesday, Sept. 7

Police assisted with a minor fire on Roma Street just before 9 a.m. No one was injured in the small electrical fire.

Police responded to a fight at Mt. Hope High School just before 2 p.m. There were no arrests reported.

Mail was reportedly stolen from a mailbox on Harrison Street.

Thursday, Sept. 8

An injured sea gull was reportedly disrupting traffic at Gooding and Hope streets just after noon. The bird was gone when officers arrived.

A van dropped off a group of people soliciting door-to-door on Roosevelt Drive, in violation of town laws. Police advised the group’s supervisor of the town ordinance against soliciting without a permit.

A coyote was spotted at Sherry Avenue and Lucent Lane just after 1 p.m. It was gone before animal control officers arrived.

Police investigated suspicious activity complaints on Asylum Road at 9 p.m., High and Oliver streets at 10:30 p.m., and Metacom and Griswold avenues at 11:30 p.m. No arrests were made.

Friday, Sept. 9

A resident on Belcourt Avenue called police at 9 a.m. because a “suspicious vehicle” was parked on his street. The car belonged to a man who was visiting the caller’s neighbor.

A resident on Franklin Street called police to report receiving phone calls from telemarketers. Officers advised the resident to contact the do-not-call list.

Phone wires were reportedly ripped off a house on Monroe Avenue. Verizon was scheduled to respond.

A house was egged at High and Congregational streets around 10 p.m. There was no significant damage or charges filed.

Two Hillary Clinton political signs were reportedly stolen from a home on Hope Street.

Saturday, Sept. 10

A Wayland Road resident called police after hearing from a neighbor that someone was spraying chemicals on her lawn while she was not home. Police found an exterminator working on the property.

Officers responded to a neighbor dispute on Sousa Street at 1:15 p.m., the site of frequent disagreements among neighbors. There was no action required, nor was any police action needed when officers were called back to Sousa Street for an unfounded noise complaint at 10 p.m.

Police investigated reports of shoplifting at the Family Dollar store on Hope Street, but no arrest was made.

Viola’s Liquors on Wood Street called police around 9:30 p.m. to check the ID of a customer, who fled before officers arrived.

Sunday, Sept. 11

A fight reportedly broke out inside Colt State Park just before noon. Police notified the state Department of Environmental Management, who reportedly took one person into custody. No details of the arrest were immediately available.
