Members of Girl Scout Troop 511 in Barrington earned their detective badges during a recent trip to the Barrington Police Department.
The local girls received a behind-the-scenes look at police work. Barrington detective Ben Ferreira and school resource office Josh Melo shared information with the scouts, teaching them about what detectives do, different types of evidence and finger-printing.
The local girl scouts also took a tour of the station.
