The Barrington High School wrestling team moved to 3-3 after dropping two very close matches — the Eagles lost to Tolman 39-36 and Woonsocket 42-36. The Eagles had to forfeit a number of matches because they did not have enough wrestlers to fill each weight class.

Barrington was slated to wrestle at home against Hope High School this week.

Girls' basketball

The Eagles remained undefeated in league play (7-0) after defeating Cranston East 60-44 on Monday, Jan. 16.

Glory Ellison scored a game-high 20 points and Andrea Kubas-Meyer finished with 18 to lead the Eagles. Grace Coutu added eight points for the Eagles, who outscored Cranston East 33-24 in the second half.

Barrington knocked off Smithfield 57-48 on Thursday, Jan. 12, led by Coutu's 16 points and 17 rebounds. The senior also blocked six shots. Ellison finished the game with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Kubas-Meyer had 16 points.

The Eagles overcame a six-point halftime deficit to defeat LaSalle, 36-33, on Tuesday, Jan. 10. Ellison finished with a team-high 15 points and Coutu scored 11 to help the Eagles defeat the defending state champions.

Boys' basketball

Barrington's record moved to 2-5 in the division after defeating Johnston 58-55 on Wednesday, Jan. 11 and losing to Narragansett 55-38 on Friday, Jan. 13.
