Born in Capelo, Faial, Azores, he was the son of the late Joao Pacheco Medina and Rosa Emilia (Furtado) Medina. He was the brother of Maria Etelvina Mello, John Medina, Mario Pacheco, all of Bristol, Isaura Cabral of East Providence, and the late Fernando Pacheco and Henry Medina.

Mr. Medina graduated from Bristol High School in 1974 and for the next 15 years worked as a deck hand on a lobster boat. He then worked as a stadium seating installer and carpenter for 25 years before retiring. He was a member of numerous clubs in town.

His funeral services were held Aug. 22 from the George Lima Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Richard Narciso at St. Elizabeth’s Church. Liturgical readings were by Joanne Mello, and the Prayer of the Faithful was read by Donna Medeiros. The offertory gifts were presented by Isaura Cabral, Paula Armillotto and Nolan Medina. Serving as pallbearers were John Medina, Nolan Medina, Nathan Medina, Mario Pacheco, Mike Mello and Paul Mello.
