TIVERTON — Tiverton Youth Soccer will hold elections to its executive board at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the Tiverton Senior Center, 207 Canonicus St.

This is an open election, and everyone is encouraged to attend to vote for or become a part of the Tiverton Youth Soccer Executive Board.  While all positions (with the exception of competitive director) are available, there are two spots that require new personnel; they are recreational coordinator (voting position) and field & equipment manager (non-voting position). All are volunteer positions.

The following is a brief description of the positions.

President:  Preside at all TYS meetings  and attend SRI state meetings, enforce the TYS by-laws and constitution, call any special meetings, vote only when there’s a tie sign contracts, documents and correspondence .

Vice president: Cover for the president in his/her absence; handle league insurance issues.

Secretary: Keep meeting minutes, monitor emails.

Treasurer:  Deposit monies in the name of TYS, pay bills, keep financial accounts, complete statement of accounts in writing for annual meeting, audit accounts.

Registrar: Handle all registration issues

Recreational director: Coordination of activities associated with the recreation programs.

Competitive director:  Overall coordination of activities associated with competitive programs.

Girls competitive coordinator

Boys competitive coordinator

Field and equipment director: Field set-up prior to start of season, coordinate field lining, maintain equipment, order equipment and field supplies.

Director of coaching:  Monitors and educate league coaches.
