In the Officials’ Holiday Tournament held at Smithfield High School, the Tiverton girls basketball team defeated Cranston West 34-27 at Smithfield Wednesday evening. This moves Tiverton to 4-1 overall (while they remain 1-0 in league play) on the season.

Both teams played extremely well but in the end, Tiverton’s defensive effort helped them win despite a poor shooting performance from the free throw line. Tiverton’s next game is in the championship round of the Official’s Tournament this Friday vs. the winner of North Smithfield and North Providence.
Scoring for Tiverton were:
Bergandy, Olivia: 4 pts
Bergandy, Maya: 1 pt
Pimental, Rachel: 2 pts
Caldwell, Mariah: 4 pts
Wilson, Jackie: 11 pts
Sando, Sam: 10 pts
Higgenbottom, Haley: 2 pts
