Portsmouth postpones sporting events

PHS basketballPORTSMOUTH — Several athletic competitions involving high school athletes have been either re-scheduled or canceled due to the storm, according to Stephen Trezvant, director of athletics.

The boys’ varsity and JV basketball games versus Rogers High School scheduled for Friday night, Feb. 8, has been tentatively rescheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Portsmouth High School.

The boys’ and girls’ swim Division II championship scheduled for Saturday morning, Feb. 9, has been rescheduled for 8 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Roger Williams University.

The boys’ Indoor Track & Field Class B Championship scheduled for Saturday morning, Feb. 9, has been rescheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m. at The Providence Career & Technical Center. The bus will depart Portsmouth High School at 9:15 a.m.

The varsity cheerleading competition trip to New Jersey scheduled for this weekend has been canceled.
