Mitchell Kelln, from Malibu, Calif., has committed to the University of Michigan. Mitch was a key offensive player on the Ravens’ 2012 EIL Championship team that finished 6-0 in league play (9-6 overall).
Austin Kreinz from Delafield, Wisc., will attend the University of Pennsylvania. A consistent Dean’s List student and co-captain of this year’s lacrosse team, Austin was an All-League standout on the 2012 squad with 19 goals and 26 assists as a mid-fielder for the Ravens. He was named an Under Armour Elite All-Star and represented the Midwest region at the 2012 Underclassmen All-American Tournament.
Reaves Klipstein, of Califon, N.J., will attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He is a close defenseman who, before coming to Portsmouth Abbey this year, excelled at Rutgers Prep in New Jersey as a two-time All-Prep, two-time All-Area and two-time Player of the Year in his division. A two-year captain, Reaves led his team to back-to-back State Prep B Championship titles.
Al Brown, Abbey director of athletics and head boys’ lacrosse coach, said, “The boys have worked hard in the classroom and on the field. They are true student-athletes and have the opportunity to attend excellent colleges and continue playing lacrosse at a high level. We are very proud of their accomplishments.”
