Huskies blast St. Patrick’s with strong first-half

The Mt. Hope High School boys’ basketball team rolled to an easy win over St. Patrick’s Academy.

The Mt. Hope High School boys’ basketball team raced out to a 50-12 half-time lead and rolled to an easy win over St. Patrick’s Academy, 67-32, last week.

Senior forward Matt McGee led the Huskies with 15 points. McGee knocked down five 3-pointers and had three rebounds and one steal.

Mt. Hope’s sophomore guard Alex Francis had 11 points, two rebounds and two assists, whiles junior guard Matt Scott had 10 points, three rebounds and a steal.

Senior guard Tevin Jones had seven points, four rebounds and a steal; junior guard Kyle Valenzuela had six points, four rebounds and two assists, and senior forward Pat Guthlein had six points and seven rebounds.

Mt. Hope was also led by senior forward Eric Pattie, who had three points, four rebounds and two steals, junior forward Jared Ramos, who had two points, 10 rebounds, a steal and two blocks, and junior forward Nick Murgo, who had two points, five rebounds and two steals.

Sophomore forward Tyler Barbosa pitched in with two points, two rebounds and a steal and freshman forward Eddie Joseph had two points, one rebound and a steal.

Sophomore guard Jared Cinotti and senior forward Dan Simonds also played well.
