Ryan Costa and his East Providence High School boys’ soccer teammates are ranked in the latest NSCAA Region 1 poll.
East Providence (3-0-1, 7 points in Division I) was tabbed as the area’s ninth-best team in the third weekly NSCAA Region I poll released Wednesday, Sept. 19.
The Townies are the second of two Rhode Island teams in the poll, fellow unbeaten South Kingstown having been pegged as the fifth-best team in the area. Ludlow (Ludlow, Mass.), at 4-0-1, was selected as the top-ranked team as of this week.
“It’s still early in the season, but obviously for our guys it’s good for them. It shows that all their hard work is beginning to pay off. Hopefully we can keep up the results the rest of the season,” said EPHS head coach Tony Vieira.
The Townies next put their undefeated record on the line Thursday night, Sept. 20, when they host likewise 3-0-1 Central Falls at Pierce Stadium at 7 o’clock.
