The Barrington 8 and under All-Stars bounced back in the Andreozzi Tournament, with a dominating performance in a 12-1 win over Portsmouth last week.
The boys’ bats came alive as Zach Berlinsky (2 singles), Griffin Crane (2 singles), J.T. Celico (double and a single), Davis Johnson (single and a walk), Connor Huard (single and a walk), Matt Raffa (single and a triple), and Dean Sequeira (2 singles) all reached base twice.
Eli Terrell, Matt Davis, and James Anderson each joined the hit parade, with a single.
The Eagles, who improved to 1-2, jumped out to a fast start by having their first five batters score in a five-run first inning. The squad continues to receive strong pitching performances, as Berlinsky started and pitched 2 innings and gave up 1 run. Raffa came in to start the third and retired the first seven batters that he faced, while striking out five. Crane finished off the Patriots with a strikeout to end the game.
Barrington’s defense was just as impressive as Celico has been flawless on the hot corner. Huard was solid behind the plate and tagged out an aggressive runner. Johnson made a great scoop at first base and Anderson almost turned a double play that would’ve ended the game.
