EAST PROVIDENCE —  The respective Little League District 2 All-Star tournaments continued over the last week, involving teams representing the East Providence Central, Riverside and Rumford organizations. The District 2 champions will represent the area in the state tournaments to follow.
District 2 tournaments are contested under a double-elimination format. The scores from District 2 tournament games through July 2 are included below.
Major Baseball
Riverside 2, Newport 1; Riverside 4, Rumford 2; Barrington 8, East Providence Central 0; East Providence Central 8, Fairlawn 5; Middletown 18, Rumford 0 (Rumford eliminated); Barrington 9, Riverside 0; Middletown 12, East Providence Central 0 (East Providence Central eliminated); Riverside 5, Pine View-Pawtucket 4
